FIRST Tech Challenge is a year long competitive robotics club at Beach Middle School.  FTC is where Young Engineers in 6th-8th grades engage in head to head competition on a 12’ x 12’ field with other teams. They must design, build, and program their robots to achieve the tasks set forth by the challenge revealed at the start of the season, “Rover Ruckus”.  They are expected to not only build a robot, but document their design process and community outreach as part of their competitive strategy to be presented at the competitions.  FTC teams meet two nights per week from September through December with optional Open Lab on Saturdays during competition season. Year round activities are available for this level of Young Engineers that keep minds active and learning in the off-season and engaged in the community.
